JRS was contracted by Catholic Health to transform the existing main lobby and reception area at St. Francis Hospital to create a welcoming space for patients, employees and visitors, that exudes warmth and hospitality.
The renovation included a new reception/security station, an admitting suite, public café, a gift shop, pharmacy, and a doctor’s lounge, all meticulously designed to enhance the overall welcoming ambiance.
A key design innovation was the incorporation of a ceiling and lighting system featuring sound-absorbing elements, fostering a quieter lobby atmosphere. JRS introduced a lighter color palette in alignment with Catholic Health branding standards, creating a harmonious blend of warmth and institutional identity.
The paramount challenge was to ensure uninterrupted hospital access during the extensive renovation. To address this, JRS implemented multiple construction phases, complete with temporary hallways and entrances, facilitating a smooth transition and minimizing disruptions to daily operations.
This project stands as a testament to the successful fusion of aesthetic transformation, functional enhancements, and strategic construction management.
