The original manor home on this former estate was razed to make way for a private townhouse development. This caretaker’s house, the only surviving structure, was converted into the clubhouse for the residents. With a decline in its use, the Homeowners Association (HOA) sought a reimagination of the building while enhancing the physical connection between it and the adjacent pool.
The goal was to transform the clubhouse into a flexible space with modern and durable finishes while adhering to a strict budget. The JRS Architect, P.C. team provided several creative design options incorporating feedback from the HOA to finalize the ultimate plan.
The program includes expanding the main foyer and lounge area while providing a business center, bar, dining area, and updated kitchen. Having the ability to accommodate large gatherings yet dividing it into smaller spaces is also incorporated. The prior innocuous interior fireplace is also being reimagined, becoming a prominent design feature in the main space.
The exterior of the building will receive a full refresh. In an effort to further integrate the clubhouse with the neighboring pool area, a separate covered patio has been designed. An outdoor restroom is also included. Expanding on the amenities, a barbeque zone adjacent to the pool area and clubhouse will create a more “resort” feel for the residents.
