Providing education and training for children with vision loss and developmental disabilities, HKS’ Children’s Learning Center was designed with tactile floor tiles and high contrast flooring materials to allow them to navigate independently. Tactile wall panels, textured wallcoverings and brightly colored acoustical wall panels also aid navigation while creating an inviting and whimsical atmosphere. The design also addressed the heightened sensitivity to noise and light.
